CASE STUDY - AQUACARE WATER TREATMENTS
Aquacare manufacture chemical treatments for water quality, such as chlorine for swimming pools.
They approached us to design a logo, branding identity and website to promote and sell their products.
Jon Tarr - Design Commentary
My first task was to design a logomark, a standalone symbol that we can use as a branding element.
I drew up a water droplet with a wave going through it to represent the precise mixing of treatment chemicals through the water. I applied the principles of the golden ratio to give an aesthetically pleasing balance.
For the type, I designed some simple, rounded, lowercase lettering. Like little droplets.
The Q descender provides a space ideal for their byline — water treatments.
The result is a neat little modern versatile logo. It can be used in a variety of formats, such as a standard linear layout on a white background,
or it can be stacked vertically with a reversed colour-way on a blue background. Using water droplets as a branding theme.
This is the identity we've used to design and print various materials; product stickers, user-guide booklets and corporate stationery.
To complete the re-brand we also designed and developed a new e-commerce website to sell their produce online; aquacare.nz
“Hi Jon. YES! Perfect. We absolutely LOVE the new design so thank-you!”
